It's 5:30 in the morning, and I still can't sleep. It was like this last night, too.

Tomgight I had a meltdown when the property manager, who is being replaced, called to ask me about the date a check cleared and let me know that the owner was mysteriously thinking he hadn't gotten paid at all. The Manager reassured me that he remembers depositing 3 money orders and one check including a late fee,  and I sent him a copy of the canceled check and told him I had the recipts if necessary. I know they can't do that to me--but I also am perceptive enough to get that the owner would only want to say that because he could then try to get me out of here before I make any noise about the mold and the swage.... and get to keep my last months rent and secrity deposit in the process.

I'm nervous about even talking about any of this anywhere; they keep using tactics that make me feel intimidated and upset. The property manager also said something aboout the owner saying he "couldn't find" my security deposit. Dude, what, does he think I'm the stupidest woman alive? What did they put it in a shoebox under the bed and accidently give it to Goodwill?

37 days till I'm homeless, not that I should stay in a place where I'm now discovering mold in all kinds of weird places.

Comment on: If We Don't Get Help, We Will Be Evicted.... Scared to death!!!

Both my husband and I lost our jobs 3 months ago and we are in financial trouble.  We are asking for help in paying our rent.  We are receiving unemployment benefits but are falling way short of what our job incomes used to be.  We are so far behind that even a month of rent would help us catch up which is $800.00.  If anyone can offer any assistance to us it would be greatly appreciated.  We are hard working middle aged people and have never asked for help before this.  Now we are begging for assistance.  Any help would be appreciated.

This is a real plea for help.  I can provide my landlords name and address if you prefer to send to him.  I can provide my name, address, phone and email address for proof this is a real plea for help.  We can't afford to move and physically cannot move.  My paypal account is mvbrothers2@att.net

I will verify anything you need verified.   All I have been contacted by so far is scammers.  I am praying for angels to contact me or help out.  Please.  Thank you for reading my post.

I have noticed that most people and all information pertaining to this page is dedicated to those in the USA. Does it matter that I am in Canada. I still need help desperately and havn't seen such a great website better yet, a website forum at all.

I hope this doesn't matter, we all suffer with the same issues and pain and need help. I was just wondering if i still qualify

Need financial help!!

OK, here's the deal. I have been married for 4 years and our financial staus has been spiraling downwards ever since. I have changed jobs, taken on a second, sold everything that I can think of (or that will even sell) and I am still unable to get us on top.  My wife and I both work, I am tryng to finish my schooling and manage two jobs. Unfortunately I don't have a child to use as a sympathy call, but our situation has definitely kept us from being able to make that decision. We have just recently run into a slew of bad tidings and I don't know where else to turn. I don't have assistance from family or friends and my credit is so shot I can't even get a loan. I am being taken to court by two parties, one for non-payment and the other my city for not completing my landscaping in a timely manner. Hence, we need help and I have no idea how to repay but I will promise to do so when I'm acctually in a place that I can save some money. Please help us or I am afraid I will actually lose our home.

I am so sorry to hear you are in such a hard situation and in pain.I can not help financially but I will pray with you,and talk with you. What happened to your knees? What is the reason of your pain? Can you apply for SSD? If your doctor said you can not work, and will be in that state for awhile..you may be able to get Social Security Disability...Do you have children at home? If you have spouse,is he a veteran Or are you a veteran? Praying for you... Dianna_Princess

Can You Please Help a Nurse in Need?

By Nurse in Need - on Jun 12, 2007... modified on Jun 12, 2007
Posted in Nurse in Need

This is the first time I’ve every done something like this and it is difficult so please bear with me. I am Kelly and I am a Registered Nurse. I've spent many years having the opportunity to do what I love, helping others in need. I have been the caregiver and advocate for others who are suffering from illness or injury and also a liaison for family members who are caught in the painful, sometime powerless feeling of watching their loved ones go through illness or injury.

Now I find myself in the position of needing help. I was injured at work, but I am told it will be months until I receive any help financially. I have lost just about everything, except my home. And I am terrified I will loose that too. As a nurse I have faced emergencies with skill and professionalism, but I’m afraid I’ve hit a problem I am not able to fix. As difficult as it is for me to ask for help, I would imagine it is also difficult for someone to offer help to a virtual stranger, so let me give you a bit of insight into who I am.

I accepted the position as Director of Nursing at my current job. This facility's pay is very low with no health insurance or other health benefits, no sick time, vacation or holiday pay. This facility also had a reputation of doing very badly during state visits and has an administrator who is known for treating her staff poorly and letting the people in her care do without even some of the most basic of needs.

I had my work cut out for me. But I did not take the job because it would be easy. I took the job because I saw a need for my skills and expertise and I knew I could make a difference in the lives of the patients and the staff. I firmly believe that everyone, regardless of their financial or social status, deserve the best care available. And with the help of other dedicated staff members, I was able to create an environment that was focused on the well-being of those under my care. The patients and staff now had someone who was not afraid to speak up for them. Someone who put the patient's needs above all else and set the standard for other health care professionals in the facility. Having State Survey cite no deficiencies (the first time in over 10 years) was an added bonus. But the best indicator that I was doing my job was on the faces of those in my care. It wasn't uncommon for me to clock out at three but not leave until four. As I would make my way toward the door, patients would stop me and want to talk to me, share stories with me or just want to exchange pleasantries as I left and make sure I was coming back 'tomorrow'.

In my private life, I purchased a major fixer-upper. But it was love at first sight! By doing the renovations ourselves, we have saved thousands I’m sure and it also helps that we have been lucky enough to find things others don’t want and use it for this task. Even though this project has had to come to a halt since I’ve been injured, I know that the rest of the ceilings will be put up, we’ll be able to paint the drywall and have a tub to use down the road.

But in the meanwhile, I am in what seems to be a hurt at work nightmare as my boss and the insurance company refuse to get me the medical treatment I so desperately need and agree to give me temporary total disability. I am so lost, scarred and in so much pain. My hope is that there are people out there who would be willing to help me financially or by any other means available. My mortgage is $296 per month (one advantage of getting such a fixer-upper). And since we have been cutting back on bills, my bills are about $150 per month. Any help at all would be so appreciated. I could even make arrangements to pay back a loan if someone is willing to help in that way.

I have heard that adversity can bring out the best in people. I believe that with my whole heart. I’ve been privileged enough to see it during my career. Finding this website has really opened some doors for me and it is my deepest desire that once I am back on my feet again, that I return the favor by helping others in need.

Thank you so much for reading my story.
Kelly

Hello, I am Kelly and I am a Registered Nurse. I've spent many years having the opportunity to do what I love, helping others in need. I have been the caregiver and advocate for others who are suffering from illness or injury and also a liason for family members who are caught in the painful, sometime powerless feeling of watching their loved ones go through illness or injury.

Now I find myself in the position of needing help. I was injured at work and my employer is denying the validity of the claim. While this has to be worked out in court, which could take months, I have lost the only source of income for my family...me. I have no income and bills that will not wait. My biggest fear is that I will loose my home since I am unable to pay my mortgage of $296 per month and it is already overdue. It is so difficult to ask for help, but I would imagine it is just as difficult to offer help to someone you do not know so if I may, I will give you insight into who I am.

In my private life, I had my work cut out for me too. We had bought an extreme fixer-upper, but I fell in love with the house at first sight and knew, once the work was finished, it would be a wonderful home to grow old in. We have been doing all the work ourselves, but the work on our home has come to a stand still since there is not money to complete the projects still needing to be done.

Don't get me wrong. I do not mind living in our home that still needs so much work. I figured we may even be able to do without electricity if it comes to that, but I am terrified to loose our home. We would then be put out in the streets.

If anyone is able to help, I would be so greatful. And please, any help would be appreciated, no matter what it is.

Thank you for taking the time to ready my story.

Bless you all!

I live in a mobile home, with no shower, no kitchen water, the roof is leaking, and I have holes in the floor. I have no windows. The windows are covered with insulation.

I am disabled because of a car wreck. I was  rear ended by a hit by a  driver/who left the scene of the accident, and was not found

I just need a little help. I want to get  my place fixed where I can live normally.

I am concerned that I will lose my job, as my hours have been cut down to 18 hours per week.

Please help

Desperately Seeking Help

By MamaD - on Sep 27, 2006
Posted in MamaD

I have been relentless in trying to find help for my family and I. I have two children under the age of 10 yrs. and a Husband. We have done everything that we can think of to climb out of the hole we are in. My Husband is the breadwinner of our family, I do not have any work experience and one of my children I have no sitter for so I cannot find a job. It's impossible to work when my Husband isn't because he works 10-12 hour days.

To better understand let me give you a brief history. My Husband and I had decided since our Daughter was no in school and we were financially stable to have another child, well no sooner than we had received the good news that my Husband was laid off from his computer job. Before that we were doing alright. He was unable to find work, and the two that he did find were over 50 miles away and our beater car plus the cost of gas would never allow it. He started a different job outside of computers, but now with the cost of living going up, plus two children it is impossible to get out of this hole we are in.

We filed for bankruptcy and that didnt do us as much good as we had thought. Often we do not eat in order to feed our children, and pay the bills, which include keeping a roof over there heads. We went to our local housing office and applied for section eight to seek some help with our rent or a bigger place, as my children are different sexes and share a room. They cannot help us because they do not have the funds and we have a wait on the list for a place.

We also went to our local Dept. of Social Services and they basically told us that we make too much money for their help. All the while, we also make too little to survive. We have healthy insurance luckily through my Husbands work, as DSS said to go that route rather than medical assistance, however that is a lot more money now coming out of my Husband's paychecks for health insurance.

We just cant seem to catch up with our bills, and now our rent has increased. It makes it impossible with the cost of living in our area to find a bigger place for our family especially when we cant even afford where we live at present.

I believe that everything happens for a reason, a reason even we do not or can not understand at the time. And I put my faith in God. It just becomes very difficult because it seems we take two steps foward to fall back a whole flight. I do not know what to do anymore and no one will help. I would like to plead with anyone reading this for help in any way. Even just having my family in your prayers is something. We need all the help that we can get right now. And my family and I would be so greatful. Thank you all and God Bless.

Single mother in need of surgery to continue working

By joco - on Sep 24, 2006
Posted in joco

I have a beautiful 5 year old daughter that I need to be able to support, and I have come to realize that I need help!  I have an education and I work hard, but I do not have any health insurance and I am in dire need of surgery for carpal tunnel.  I was recently forced to quit my second job because the pain was unbearable after 10 hours of work, I would be in tears before I got home from work.  I am now faced with mounting bills and I have no where to turn for help!  I have prayed about it and I have found this web site, and I am hoping I can get some help.

I need assistance in getting the outpatient surgery for my condition so I can adequately provide for my daughter.  I am currently behind on all my bills due to the inability to work my second job, and I don't know how much longer I can continue to work my primary job if I do not get the surgery!

Please Help Us!
